Fousheé sets the tone for a warm and dreamy summer, with her new release 'My Slime'.
The genre-bending singer Fousheé, features 'My Slime' on her newly released EP 'Time Machine'. The acoustic guitar gives a warm rhythm, combined with her distinctive angelic voice which creates a multitude of range and dynamics. It allows us to romanticise a fun summer fantasy. The term 'My slime' means someone you care for, a best friend or as Foushee says, a partner in crime. The song in itself has an array of emotions and future hopes.
Born and raised in New Jersey and having grown up with a Jamaican mother, we can hear how being identified as Jamaican has such an important influence in Fousheé's music. 'My Slime' includes an interlude, voiced in Jamaican patois, a dialect in Jamaica. The voice poetically describes the love one can feels for their spouse, using alliteration, such as using the words 'sweet smiling, soulful and satisfying spouse'.
The EP also features the single 'Deep End' which is continuing to push the limits of what can be achieved. Having over 350 million streams worldwide, and landing the Top 10 at Alternative Radio, as Fousheé is the first black female to hit the top 10 in 32 years, an indescribable achievement.
Fousheé is also Apples Up Next for the month of June, with already such great achievements, we can't wait to see her blossom even more than she already has.
