Against a backdrop of minimalist art deco structures and drapery, SANDR invites London’s R&B star, Kaleem Taylor, to perform as the first guest on their new platform ‘The Room’. Curated with a stripped-down bedroom set made to feel bare and sweaty, they perfectly capture the moment between a candlelit rendezvous and the sun’s rise. Kaleem belts soulful riffs atop a sensual bass mirroring the steady pulse of his heart, singing a live rendition of 'Until' from his latest EP 'She Knows'.
This artist is no stranger to the music scene, having worked with renowned producers such as DJ Snake and Joe Hertz; whilst sharing the stage with the likes of R&B royalty such as Miguel, Boyz II Men, and Ryan Leslie. His uniquely delicate falsetto and emotive releases have a distinctive sound, selling out headline shows across Europe and the UK, as well as securing support from revered media outlets. Since his chart-topping club hit ‘Promesses’ with Parisian DJ Tchami in 2013, Kaleem has captured his audience, amassing over 3 million streams on Spotify on his previous EP ‘Surface’.
Having had his stage presence described as a “silky smooth candour” by London in Stereo, whilst sounding “gorgeous, erudite and with a rawness” Kaleem does not disappoint in this latest performance either. Transcending his tone over the echoing synths and filling the space with his cool delivery and confidence. His performance is the perfect introduction to the authenticity and vocal standard of the new multi-genre platform, The Room.
Until my heart stops.
