Karl Kani is a world recognised brand that has been steadily making its way back into the consciousness of the modern street fashion enthusiast for the past few years. Initially making its name in the early 90’s by turning hip-hop from a sub-culture into a global mass phenomenon, its fashion became more accessible and in demand. Over the years, the brand has continuously made efforts to rebrand and develop into the new taste level of the everyday consumer. For their second instalment of SS20, heritage streetwear brand Karl Kani presents “A Summer Love Story.” A lo-fi ode to summers of the past, set against a backdrop of dreamy sun sets, blue skies and pastel hues of the studio, as we eagerly await a time we can venture back out into the world. Due to the limits that have been put on individuals across the globe, this campaign is a beautifully executed way of showcasing something that we often overlook and underestimate, expressing such in the collections three new, separate product stories for both men and women.

Menswear Drop 2 explores three themes – Nautical 90s, which works with a classic Karl Kani combination of navies, reds, yellows and greens, reworking stripes and black colours across a range of two pieces and sweatshirts. Classic Sports, taking influence from America’s best loved pass times -both baseball and basket references are seen within the cut of the clothing, with matching t-shirts, shorts and tracksuits. Pastel Power, offers a more trend driven array of patterns including bandana prints, tie-dye and camo in lighter hues for a festival feel that you can wear anywhere.

Womenswear Drop 2 is categorised into – New Rave, echoing the colour palette of Pastel Power with a range of pale yellows and lilacs, New Rave incorporates a mix of stripe and snake skin prints alongside tie-dye pieces. Motor Sport, a range of bold reds and yellows accents across tracksuits and sweats. The cuts of this collection are familiar on the race course and the street. Denim Utility, utilising the red bandana print and firm favourite camo, this collections two-pieces are the perfect pairing.
