Unravelled is a collaborative project between designer Ellie Robert, model Sharon Boakye, and photographer Jivan West.

Digging deep into creating an “original” concept can feel frustrating but I knew I wanted an ode to  60s/70s inspired fashion.

Aisha Seriki is a Nigerian, London based creative specialising in portrait/fashion Photography. At the age of 8, her family immigrated from South East Asia to the UK and she has been residing in South London ever since. Aisha’s interest in photography stems from her father's obsession with documentation; specifically, that of all her significant childhood events.

‘Diaphanous’ (meaning light, delicate and translucent). I feel it perfectly encapsulates what my images are about. I used the glass to play with the light as well as position the model as if she was trapped behind it, highlighting her delicate nature. The images draw contrasts between the sharp glass edges and the natural fluidity of her clothing and hair. I shot these images with my Hasselblad H1, using only natural light and reflections.

This concept is inspired by the Goddess of Venus encompassing the feeling of love, power, prosperity and victory. We want to showcase the strength in women in this way.
