Yesterday Harry Styles released his first single of 2019 entitled 'Lights Up' supposedly off of his forthcoming sophomore album. The track marks the first release since his eponymously named 2017 album 'Harry Styles' and the singer kept the song a surprise for fans only posting the artwork on instagram a few hours before the release. Many have speculated that due to the song coinciding with National Coming Out Day that Styles may have been making a statement regarding him being bisexual as in the video we see Harry styled very androgynously and surrounded by scantily clad men and women. The visuals are simply stunning boasting a beautiful colour story of neon reds and olive greens all on old film. The song itself shows a progression from the 1970's inspired sound we got familiar with on his first album and is more sonically reminiscent to the likes of Frank Ocean and BØRNS. 'Lights Up' definitely proves the 25-year-old British singer has a lot more to say and more stories to tell via a new polished sound, check out the music video for 'Lights Up' below.
All the lights couldn't put out the dark Running through my heart Lights up and they know who you are Do you know who you are?
