Shaé Universe Ascends The Throne With New Single 'Royalty' ft. Kojey Radical

Nigerian-born and Watford-native Shaé Universe has returned with brand new single ‘Royalty’, featuring Kojey Radical. The uplifting singer-songwriter highlights the importance of healing and accepting herself as the multitalented Queen she truly is - a champion of self-love.

The song is the first to drop preceding Shaé’s highly anticipated debut album. An acoustic guitar sample is accompanied by the singer’s phenomenal RnB-inspired melodies, all of which combine seamlessly with elements of the hardy sound that is UK drill.

This is the second collaboration to come from the two UK artists with Shaé also featuring on Kojey Radical’s 2017 single ‘700 PENNIES’. ‘Royalty’, produced by Olly Hodding, follows Shaé’s stirring contribution to the BET SoulTrain Awards Soul Cypher in December, wherein she sang alongside Sinead Harnett, Hamzaa and Jvck James.

With Shaé’s arresting vocals and Kojey’s profound lyricism the track considers topics of empowerment and self-worth. Something which can be found in all elements of Shaé’s music.

Speaking on the album Shaé states, “This song was written for my tribe around the world. It’s an anthem for all kings and queens to empower themselves with. It took me a long time to comfortably sit in my own worth for a multitude of reasons, many of which were subconscious influences that I was completely oblivious to until recent years, and I know many other people have experienced the same or are still somewhere in that unlearning process. This song is a reminder that you’ve got this and you’re worthy.”

You can expect to hear two more singles to come ahead of Shaé’s debut project arriving later this year.
