Rising Songstress Äyanna Shares New Love Infused Offering ‘Girlfriend’

Bight, affectionate and loving, Äyanna over 3 minutes explores the pure blissful moment of when you unexpectantly find young love in the truest form on her first single of 2023 ‘Girlfriend’.

Receently signed to LVRN, the same record label as the likes of 6LACK, Summer Walker and DVSN, the East Londoner's captivating honey-toned vocals are light and airy as she expresses her desire for long-term commitment and a secure relationship.

The pleasantly brings you back to that nostalgic early 2000s vibe with its smooth harmonies and summery upbeat feel to it. Preferring honesty over nonchalance the songstress melodically lets her intentions be known.

The accompanying early 2000s-inspired music video, directed by Priya Minhas, is set in during the summer in a London café, where a playful romance occurs as a customer catches Äyanna’s eye and we watch the scenes unfold.

Speaking on the single, Äyanna shares“I wrote ‘Girlfriend’ with Gale when I had a big crush on someone. It was the first time I’d felt such strong feelings and the day I wrote the song I was just feeling so overwhelmed and giddy.

I said to Gale ‘let’s do something really fun and flirtatious’. The song starts with ‘if I wait any longer, you might make me spill over’ because at the time I really was wondering why he hadn’t asked me to be his girlfriend yet. I just love how to the point the song is, while still being so playful and fun.”
