Kojey Radical Is 'Proud Of You' On His New Single

East London based lyricist Kojey Radical releases some new music for his fans, his first solo release of the year that comes shortly after a new record with rapper Mick Jenkins called Snakes. bringing his vocals to the forefront, Kojey Radical's 'Proud Of You' is a heartfelt and honest record produced by Kz The Producer.

The chorus of the bouncy record speaks from the perspective of an individual showing their happiness for the person they believe in, this could be interpreted in various ways, therefore providing the record with a relatable tone that Kojey Dissects in his verses. Kojey initially speaks on the hard times of an individual's rise to a certain level.

In the opening line to his verse, Kojey raps, "If Live a B*tch, then I'm with her, that's my homie, that's my slime, that's my n*gga" - Kojey details his comfortability at that time with struggle, going through the hardships because he is aware of where he is headed in his times of trouble. Close to the end of this verse, Kojey speaks on leaving his street activities alone as he comes to find out it will not give him the pride and satisfaction he is searching for.

During a time of reflection and isolation, Koey Radical feels this is the perfect time to look back on what he has accomplished and remember how far he has come after finishing his first American Tour early this year and touring with the likes of KANO and Daniel Caesar. On this song, Kojey says:

“I always seem to forget to reflect and really consider how far I’ve come since I started. The pace of life never really gave me the opportunity to. With all the chaos going on I felt like this song is a perfect way to help remind people to consider what makes you proud of you”
