Travis Scott Is Back With New Single 'Highest In The Room'
After the amazing success of Travis Scott's third studio album Astro World and the release of his Netflix documentary 'Look Mom I Can Fly', Travis shows no signs of slowing down the tempo of his continuously rising profile be releasing the highly anticipated single Highest In The Room.
The song comes at an interesting time after the announcement of his break up with long-time girlfriend Kylie Jenner. On this record, Travis keeps it simple but his melodic value continues to be stellar. the guitar loop on the instrumental is an attractive layer for the very timely 4 bar stanzas. Highest in the room may be a double entendre in itself with Travis speaking to his current status in the rap game as well as him being intoxicated by marijuana.
Travis raps in the second verse; "This not no molly, this the boot/Ain't no comin’ back from here" explaining that high is induced by Marijana and not ecstasy. On the outro, Travis also raps " I am the highest, you might got the Midas" - referring to the Midas touch in greek mythology as currently, everything Travis does in the entertainment industry turns to gold or even platinum.
When asked about the process for his next release Travis Scott told Beats 1 “Yeah, I mean I’m in no rush frankly, but I’m taking my time to come up with the next album. I’m always down to drop music and serve some packs to the fans. It’s time for the fans to eat.”
