Meet The London-Based Songstress, Yas VW, Infusing Nostalgia In With Modern RnB

Hailing from South London, Yasmin Vaughan-Williams, otherwise known as Yas VW, is a breathe of fresh air ready to take on the realm of British R&B with her angelic, effortless and un-blemished sound. Having recently dropped off her debut single titled, 'Weakness', it's evident the rising songstress will only flourish.
Influenced by some of music's greatest names including Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Brandy, Mya, and Aaliyah, Yas VW grew up around music from a youthful age. By the time London-native reached the age of 10 years-old, she began taking piano lessons and learning guitar before participating in church choirs where her confidence began to shine. Taking pride in her wordsmith, Yas VW is determined to make others resonate with what she has to say; staying authentic and true to herself, the ascending songstress has the ability to paint pictures with her ethereal vibrations. Intertwining the nostalgic sounds of the 80's and 90's in with the modern day soundscape, Yas VW describes her sound as 'Jhene Aiko meets the young Janet Jackson' - and she isn't lying! 'Weakness' is an otherworldly vessel of sound that see's the vocalist glaze the ambient backdrop in with her airy and hypnotic tone.
