Kanye West Teases GAP X YZY Collaboration
From working in GAP in his teens to now making designs for them, the Chicago rapper tweeted for the first time in a while with the photo caption #WESTDAYEVER. His previous tweet from March was the announcement of Yeezy Season 8. It now looks like we might be able to get our hands on some more affordable clothing designed by Mr. West himself.
The bag reads "YZY GAP DEVELOPED BY YEEZY AND GAP IN CODY WY 062520"
YEEZY AND GAP FORM PARTNERSHIP #WESTDAYEVER
Having previously mentioned his new season of clothing in his GQ interview earlier this year, he released a campaign video in March showcasing new designs that might be his 'Yeezy Workwear'. According to his interview, he would want his ranch in Wyoming to be filled with workers all wearing Yeezy. Premiered in Paris were "servicewear" garments that will be worn by Yeezy campus staff such as cooks, nannies, housekeepers, etc. From the photo alone, more colours have been introduced and have taken a step away from the earthy tonal shades that are reminiscent of the Yeezy brand such as brown, beige, black and off white. Here we see red, royal blue and rich purple, but the style of clothing such as the hoodie and bomber jacket is similar to typical Yeezy shapes for clothing.
As it's early days, we don't know much about the GAP X YZY collaboration apart from that it’ll feature womenswear, menswear and kids but not include footwear. It is also a ten-year partnership deal, but we're looking forward to seeing what comes next! Will you be buying into the brand? Stay tuned for more updates.
