Introducing Mysie, the upcoming 23 year-old songstress from Streatham. Having kick started her career at the young age of 16, Mysie has grown leaps and bounds and earlier this year released her debut EP Chapter 11.
At 16, her musical journey began under Lizbet Sempa a singer-songwriter and pianist creating powerful and soulful music. Mysie stated "I was put into a box: a young, black, soulful singer-songwriter...There are elements of that identity in bringing to Mysie, but it's much more freeing than that. Now it's about expression". Now focusing on the freedom that music provides and rejecting the genres and stereotypes she once faced, Mysie's choice of sharp sounds, otherworldy voice, visual direction and freedom she has enabled her talent to grow and reach new heights. Releasing her debut EP Chapter 11 earlier this year consisting of 4 tracks went down a treat with her supporters. This EP was based around lust, love, life and the complexities that come with these in Doves, Fall Away, Rocking Chair and Take Your Love. Enriched with deeply consuming synths, the heart wrenching integrity of her voice and experimental flare Mysie takes you on a journey with her music. Forwarding to now, Mysie has just released a brand new single entitled Sweet Relief alongside a visual treatment. Delivering deep and haunting vocal capabilities woven in between an ethereal production that soon catapults into a dream-like soundscape, Mysie states "Sweet Relief is a celebration of a non-romantic love; a love for nature and the world around us". You can watch the visuals for Sweet Relief below.
