'Wash Us In The Blood' by Kanye West Has Surfaced Online

Updated: Mar 27, 2021

The demo track was leaked but previously mentioned in the Chicago rappers' GQ interview earlier this year.

Is Kanye about to create a whole new era? After just releasing his ninth studio album Jesus Is King last year, the anticipation for something new from Mr West has started bubbling, and the track 'Wash Us In The Blood' has risen to the surface of the crockpot. A song that was described with some lyrical content in his GQ interview.

Described to have had "hard drums and Yeezus-like industrial horror noises" the demo, shows an early rendition of something that might be just that if we ever get to hear the final version. The similarities of the track to his Yeezus album are reminiscent and has a promising outlook if ever completed. Kanye does not steer away from being political and also focuses on topics such as slavery and mass genocide.

Wash us in the blood

Wash us in the blood

Whole life selling drugs

Washed us in the blood

Holy Spirit come down

Holy Spirit we need you now

Although the song still dwells in the realm of Christian worship, there is still a combination of classic Kanye beats and sounds that we know and love. Even though it might be a while till we hear something now, there was speculation only last month that we might be hearing a new track and seeing a new video.

Arthur Jafar, a cinematographer had an Instagram live conversation with fashion director Michele Lamy and there he revealed that he was working on something with the rapper.

"I've been really busy." he says, "I've been working on this video with Kanye West." He also mentioned that the single that was supposed to be released the following week would be the lead single to his new album. In the meantime though, listen to the demo here and let us know what you think!
