Tyler Lewis Unveils New Single 'Downtime'

22-year-old artist Tyler Lewis is a musician from West London who has a diverse heritage of Sri Lankan, Dutch, Portuguese and South African roots. Today, her new single 'Downtime' was releases and follows a mixture of blends ranging from pop to R&B as she draws inspiration from notable legends such as Prince, SZA and Duran Duran.

 

Since beginning her musical journey at 8 years old, she has been going steady with her releases and branding. She's found herself on stage for one of Mahalia’s Presents events and she also supported Kiana Lede. Artists such as Tyla, Flo and Kamille have also recognised and supported her music thus far. Her TikTok and Instagram has over 170K followers and she actively engages with her audience on social media with her covers of popular songs. She has been working with Grammy award winning and producer MNEK who plays an important role in her growth in music.  

 

The visuals that follow alongside 'Downtime' is set in her bedroom and features a house party listening to her music and wanting to be alone, leading to be the vibe of her new era of music. The music video was directed by Ray Fiasco and MNEK. Fiasco has worked with Pa Salieu, Knucks and Dizzie Rascal in the past. 

"It very much does show exactly who I am as a person and what I love," she says, speaking about the single. "I just find it exciting knowing that there’s so much to come."
