Rasharn Powell Releases Double-Sided Single "Twelvemonth"

London Alt-R&B singer Rasharn Powell releases his new double-sided single ‘Twelvemonth’ produced by his previous collaborator, from his track ‘Smithereens’, AB001 and Luca Buccellati, accompanied by the Chopped

& Screwed edit on the B-side.

Quoted saying his music sits ‘within dusk and dawn’, ‘Twelvemonth’ captures the beauty of drawn-out summer days. The track is a post-romantic, funk inspired joint and through his smooth, dulcet tones, Rasharn vividly paints a picture of a roller-coaster love story. The transition to the second track is more than smooth to the ears and fits the vibe of the project perfectly.

“On Twelvemonth, I captured myself within one of the many elongated days you go through in a year,

trying to get over someone. The good, the bad, the vices. A true declaration of longing and over-standing”

- Rasharn

Rasharn’s musical entry point started young when his grandad introduced him to dance-hall and dub-plates. In later years he got lost in literature, he discovered poetry before songwriting and now draws inspiration from the likes of James Baldwin, Marlo Morgan as well as Bon Iver and Andre 3000. The artist, finds inspiration in everything, confessing that some of his best lyrics stem from daydreaming in the stockroom at his part-time job at Selfridges.

His debut EP - which previously got held up due to lock-down - is down to its final touches with news coming imminently and is highly anticipated by us. Below you can check the video-clip of the track which is directed by Rasharn him self and Kumiko.
