Nigerian R&B Star Praiz Returns With 'To The Moon' EP

Barely six months after the release of his long-awaited star-studded sophomore album KING, which featured a slew of boast-worthy African music heavyweights including Wizkid, Stonebwoy, Burna Boy, and Sarkodie the award-winning Nigerian R&B superstar, producer and singing sensation Praiz is back with a brand new EP titled To The Moon.

Produced in its entirety by Praiz himself, and featuring another stellar line-up of guest artists, including Nigeria’s biggest rap artist M.I Abaga, BET Award winning rapper Ice Prince, and veteran R&B songstress Niyola, the To The Moon EP sees Praiz tapping into the love and intimacy that the current global lockdown will have afforded many relationships all over the world, and according to Praiz, “due to the pandemic, some lovers get to spend quality time together in isolation, creating a tranquil experience, and this EP tries to capture that feeling”.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the To The Moon EP and how each track on the record came together, Praiz says, “the project opens with a classic 90’s R&B vibe on the title track ‘To The Moon’ because any kind of love that can take you to another planet is definitely worth experiencing, and for ‘Wings’ with M.I Abaga, I was thinking of how you could let a woman know just how they make you feel, and the vibe on this will make you want to fly literally.

On ‘Like It’ featuring Ice Prince, I took the time to describe everything I like, hopefully the listener can handle it, the art of my writing is in the descriptions, I want them to have a visual of what I’m singing, and that’s the same for ‘Feels’ as well, and maybe because I wrote this in lockdown, which has had me thinking a lot, the track is really just about how feelings in a relationship are important and not to be shied away from. With ‘Red Flags’ featuring Niyola, we explore the hidden secrets and lies that this lockdown can perhaps uncover in our relationships”.
