KwolleM Journeys Back And Forth On Project 'c2c'.

Newham representative KwolleM releases his new EP “C2C” which pays homage to the East London railway line that connects Essex to Greater East London. KwolleM has had some great success including 1.5 million Spotify streams and has been a key figure in the UK music scene coming out of the SoundCloud era. Since the release of his debut project KwolleM has delved into various spaces such as touring the world with popular cultural brand Places + Faces and working with British Luxury brand A-Cold-Wall.

On a radio appearance on No Signal, KwolleM spoke about the c2c project being a capsule of memories he had as a youth traveling back and forth from Essex and is a soundtrack to relationships and friendships during that time. Therefore, KwolleM taps on his long time friend and collaborator Joe James to deliver the vocal tone and paint the picture of those c2c journeys. During the No Signal preview Basildon born and East London based rapper Joe James shared some choice words for UK Rap superstar AJ Tracey.

The artwork for this project has received many accolades from the general public upon release. Art directed and designed by Jack Harper, the artwork is an ode to moments in UK rap culture that tap into the overall themes of the project. The front and back cover of the project is taken from one wide frame shot on the opposite platform and takes iconography and design references from the c2c line.

It is not clear where the issue Joe James has for AJ Tracey comes from, however, it would be fair to say that their relationship previously was collaborative, as Joe James refers to Tracy taking his style and running with it. Joe James recently returned to the music scene after a long hiatus and he since picked up where he left off as he retained his core audience in a major way. It is hard to tell if Joe James put together those lyrics for the sport and to create a moment or to address real issues, whatever the root of it is, it makes us even more excited to hear new verses from the East London lyricist on the new KwolleM project 'c2c'.

Joe James is a vital part of the project, being on multiple songs that represent the East side of London in a unique way of fusing Grime sounds and flows with soulful samples and classic records. Some UK rap legends and upcoming stars are also featured on this project, maintaining the theme of the previous release. Artists such as Devlin, DC, and Crazy Titch.
