Produced by HYNLU with additional production from PRGRSHN, 'Apricot Sky' stimulates gospel tones and touches in soul but with a tendancy to still sound fresh and modern. Karl emits a strong and eclectic taste with 'Apricot Sky' backed by his own distorted vocals, embodyed synths and grooving basslines that have power to set the mood in any given situation. As Karl describes his sound as reliable and honest, he speaks on the track mentioning: "To me, Apricot Sky is the realisation that someone or even something around you can change your life almost completely. This is usually something you couldn’t/haven’t seen or experienced before.”
As someone who started a career within the modelling industry, Karl always had a tendancy to persue music from a young age from hearing his sister sing Alicia Keys songs which encouraged him to try and produce music himself. From entering and winning a singing competition, he worked on a four-track EP and ended up singing lead in a seven-piece band, which slowed down when he moved to the city. Karl still worked on making music solo and with an EP set to be released next Spring, 2021 will see Karl Benjamin get his chance to show off his talents.
