Kano Releases His 6th Studio Album

Last Friday saw the release of Kano's 6th album and it is going down a treat.

Already at veteran status, there was no question that Kano is one the best talents the UK has produced so the sole announcement alone of Hoodies All Summer was met with praise. The love was only further when the album touched road on the 30th.

KA's roll out began with the joint drop of "Trouble" and "Class Of Deja ft. D Double E and Ghetts", the adjoining visuals depicted a powerful and very relevant message, touching home for many in the UK. Both tracks gained great critical acclaim.

Following on from that was "Pan Fried ft. Kojo Funds", a big track that channeled East London - both rappers native residency.

Hoodies All Summer packaged an additional 7 tracks making for a 10 track album. Calling on features from Popcaan and Lil Silva. "Can't Hold We Down ft. Popcaan" draws on Kano's authentic grime sound and Popcaan's dancehall flair and samples classic "Everybody Need Somebody" by Capleton; with grime rooted in early dancehall and jungle, the mash up makes a lot of sense. "Got My Brandy, Got My Beats ft. Lil Silva", combines Lil Silva's whimsical tones with clever mellow bars from Kane. Each track adds an extra element to the album.

Tracks like "SYM", "Good Youtes Walk Amongst Evil" exude energy and "Bang Down Your Doors" sees a Mike Skinner type approach. Nonetheless, all the tracks are ripe with content and spat with passion. In a environment that has become hesitant to release projects labelled as albums, its refreshing to see Kano continuing to take the traditional route and prospering.
