Justine Skye releases new EP "Bare With Me" - a sound of new age Brooklyn with a sprinkle of Jamaica

Justine Skye has come back with a new EP this week entitled Bare With Me, making it her fifth EP. The six-track project marks her debut as a now independent artist.

Contributors of the EP include Dre Skull, James Fauntleroy, Hit Boy, South London singer Jaz Karis and many more.

The Brooklyn singer who is of Jamaican descent describes it as an ode to where she’s from, fusing together the sounds of both Brooklyn and Jamaica with tracks like Bulletproof.

In an interview with Highsnobiety she says how this project will unveil to everyone the direction she is trying to go in with her artistry:

“Honestly, I’m just trying to be my most authentic self as I can as an artist wherever that takes me…I want people to enjoy it [Bare With Me] as much as I do, but I feel like I’ve drowned myself in expectations to the point that it drove me crazy. I realized I’m a lot happier now that I’m just following my instincts and being surprised. I’m surprised in my own self.”

Bare With Me speaks about the highs and lows of love and the thin line between love and lust. From wanting someone to crave and feel the same way about you in Fav to not being sure about your feelings for that person in Secrets.

You can listen to her debut EP, Bare With Me, on Spotify, Apple Music and Youtube. Let us know what you make of it.
