Joey Bada$$ Offers Up Some Advice On His Latest Single 'Let It Breathe'

Brooklyn rapper Joey Bada$$ celebrated his 26th birthday last week with a new song titled ‘Let It Breathe’, reminding us that another year older is another year better.

In December last year Joey teamed up with Westside Boogie (FKA Boogie) for ‘Outside’ which saw East coast meet West coast. This came following Joey’s first solo release since his 2017 album All Amerikkkan Bada$$, with a trio of songs under the title The Light Pack featuring Pusha-T (his first release via label Columbia Records), and as we know good things come in threes. The pack included ‘The Light’, ‘No Explanation’ and ‘The Shine’.

In this latest track, produced by the esteemed Statik Selektah, Joey spits with a cool conviction, a subtle way to let us know that his prime is not over but is, in fact, only just beginning:

“Being humble was the worst mistake I ever made. Not knowing my worth was the biggest price I ever paid.”

In the accompanying video Joey Shows off his Pro Era merch with a Pro Era varsity jacket and hat. The rapper revealed in an instagram live that the visuals had been shot just a day before its release by himself and co-directors Levi Turner and Waqas Ghani. A little taster as fans endure the wait for the release of Joey’s short film Two Distant Strangers, starring Andrew Howard and Zaria Simone.
