DTG Pens Profoundly Personal Letter To Nigeria Entitled “My People”

“My People” comes in response to the heartbreaking massacre of Nigeria’s youth and people who have been exposed to unimaginable terror and violence at the hands of it’s corrupt government and police brutality. Expressing his pain the best way he knows how, DTG flows over a lively instrumental that is heavily influenced by his heritage to raise awareness. Resulting in a thought-provoking and infectious record created for a good cause. DTG pledges all money raised from “My People” to go to a charity that will help cause relief to those effected.

As you can imagine this and really hit home for DTG, recording and releasing this track has allowed the artist express the pain he feels for his country on the mic. Having been schooled and raised in Nigeria, Lagos not far from where the massacre took place, DTG recognises that “if I didn’t leave Nigerian in year 11 that could have been me.” So it’s imperative that he gives a voice to the voiceless by spreading awareness.
